In the year 750 NE, the Seanchan armies were sent across the Aryth Ocean to begin the Corenne.  Their conquest began in Tarabon.  People were made to swear to wait for the return, the government system was commandeered, and damane were captured.

As their power took hold in Tanchico and through the rest of the nation, Aes Sedai burned at the chance to strike back.  They were understandably hesitant to start an all-out attack.  It hadn't been long since Aes Sedai and Asha'man had begun to work together, but with the Black Tower closer to the point of contact, they invited sisters to use their tower as a stronghold to plan and gather forces.

Any hesitation or tensions between the two Towers began to dissolve as they worked together to attack a common enemy.  If these people had the means to enslave women who could channel, it was likely they could learn to do the same to men.  They learned of the raken, used in tandem with damane to strike.  They studied, planned, and prepared.

Then, finally, using the newly-discovered gateways, the Black and White Towers attacked the Seanchan Empire's forces in Tarabon.  The battle was brutal with great losses on both sides.  Rumors swirled that the Amyrlin and M'Hael joined in the fighting, and some even spoke of Artur Hawkwing making an appearance.  The Seanchan fought to reclaim lands they considered owed to them, but the Aes Sedai and Asha'man fought for their lives.

An agreement was finally reached when the High Lord who had brought the armies to the nation that he would not spread further, if the fighting would stop.  Tarabon still had its king and panarch, but the Empress ruled.  The people seemed to be agreeable to the situation.  Reluctantly, the two Towers agreed, as long as raken did not fly outside the nation's borders, but Asha'man would be posted to watch that it was kept.

During the fighting, another vessel landed in Ebou Dar.  Many forces were dedicated to the fights in Tarabon, and no invasion happened in Altara.  The king welcomed them initially, but was stunned to learn what the Corenne was.  When word came back that the Asha'man and Aes Sedai had held back the forces in Tarabon, he offered to open an embassy for them in his city.

The situation in Tarabon has remained this way, but tensions have been simmering of late.  The Empress across the ocean has read the omens and believes the Corenne should happen sooner rather than later.
